November 28, 2019

The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Athlete of the Month for November 2019 is Adam Turgeon.  Adam Turgeon is a 16 year old Red Deer, AB resident, Grade 11 student at St. Joseph’s High School and a competitive baseball athlete.

A current member of the St. Joseph’s Ball Academy, Adam played with the AAA 18U Red Deer Braves baseball team as a 15 year old this past summer.  Adam is a pitcher, third baseman and outfielder and will begin to focus more on his pitching as he hopes to secure a baseball scholarship in the NCAA once he graduates at St. Joseph’s High School.  Adam will try-out for the AAA Braves U18 team again in January 2020.

Adam was member of the St. Joseph’s High School Falcons Junior Boys Volleyball team this fall and is looking forward to playing with the Falcons Rugby team in the coming spring.  Adam is an Honours student at St. Josephs.

This past spring, Adam attended the RBC Training Ground event in Red Deer.  At the conclusion of this event and as the result of his test scores, Adam was chosen to be one of 100 athletes in Canada to attend the National Final.  More information and a list of invitees can be found at this link:  Needless to say, it was quite an achievement for Adam and a testament to his athletic abilities and his future in sport.

With Adam’s talent, work ethic and with the support of ASDC-Central, and his school and sport coaches, Adam will surely continue to grow and improve as an athlete in his sport of baseball.

ASDC-Central thanks Tom Bast Sports for celebrating the ASDC-Central Athlete of the Month recipients by the provision of commemorative apparel for each recipient.
