Jared has also been recognized by the business community for his technical and business prowess as the recipient of the 2002 Young Entrepreneur Award by the Business Development Bank who has presented the awards to entrepreneurs aged 19 to 30 in each province and territory since 1987. "Jared is a role model for young Canadian entrepreneurs, demonstrating what business innovation is all about," said BDC president and CEO Michel Vennat. His unwavering values include customization of customer needs, worker safety, the provision of quality work and a premium emphasis on continuous improvement and innovation.

Jared is a keen community advocate tirelessly volunteering for organizations such as the Red Deer College, the SPCA Capital Building Campaign, Festival of Trees, the Lindsay Thurber Jazz Choir, Rebels White Bantam AAA Hockey Club, Ronald McDonald House of Central Alberta, Candy Cane Lane, Adopt-A-Family, and the Central Alberta Free Style Ski Club. He is also volunteer coach for Alberta Freestyle Ski Association.

It’s not difficult to understand why Jared is an adventurous trailblazer. When he was just 19 years old, he was part of the oil well firefighting efforts in Kuwait in 1991. He also enjoys all types of physical fitness and is training for his first triathlon this summer.

Jared’s two girls, Jana 11 and Lia 13, are competitive freestyle skiers and hope one day to be in the Olympics and Lia recently competed in the 2015 Canada Games. Jared’s wife Mindy is a world-class photographer who travels the world working for NGO’s and special projects to help promote charitable organizations.

When this high-energy family is not busy trotting across the globe for work and sport, they enjoy spending time together in Red Deer, Alberta.
