- Cross Country Skiing -
Bailey Johnson is a 16 year old cross country skier, who was born and raised in Red Deer. She has competed both provincially and nationally, and is currently on the Alberta Ski Team and is ranked first overall in Alberta for her birth year. She has been skiing for 11 years and competing for five of those years. She trains in Red Deer with her team, the Red Deer Nordic Ski Club.

Her top provincial results last season were: Three gold medals at Alberta Cups, 2 silver medals and one 4th place finish at Western Canadians Haywood NorAm Championships. This will be her third year competing against the top skiers in Canada. Her top results at nationals were two 5th place finishes, one 12th place and an overall ranking of 4th in Canada for her age at Haywood Ski Nationals in Thunder Bay last March. This year she will be competing in Whitehorse at Nationals and hopes to rank in the top three for her age.
