The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Male Athlete of the Month for January 2018 is Coleman McKeeColeman McKee is a 15 year old Red Deer, AB resident, Grade 10 honours student at Hunting Hills High School and a competitive Freestyle Skier.

Coleman has been part of the Central Alberta Freestyle Ski Club for 9 years, starting with the Jumps & Bumps program when he was 6 years old.   This is Coleman’s first year with the Alberta Sport Development Centre program.  He likes how ASDC has a combined focus between both the physical and mental preparation with sessions tailored to both.    Coleman worked on qualifying his back flip over the summer at Red Deer’s Water Ramp training facility and included this new trick in a recent competition in Jasper earning a silver medal in the Slope Style event.   Having just qualified for the 2018 Alberta Winter Games in Wood Buffalo, he is excited for the challenge.   Coleman plans on getting out to Canyon and their new mogul course lots in the next month to continue to prepare for the Games and other competitions this season.

Coleman’s strong work ethic, his undeniable athletic abilities and his training experiences with ASDC-Central, he will surely continue to grow, develop and succeed in his Freestyle Ski career!

ASDC-Central thanks Tom Bast Sports for celebrating the ASDC-Central Athlete of the Month recipients by the provision of commemorative apparel for each recipient.
