The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Male Athlete of the Month for October 2017 is Carter Pisko..

Carter Pisko, is 16 years old and a grade 10 student at Delburne Central School. Carter has been training in gymnastics (Trampoline &Tumbling) at Exelta Gymnastics Club in Red Deer. For the past 10 years he has travelled to Red Deer and currently trains 20hrs/week. He competes at a National Level for Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT). Carter attended his first Canadian National Championships for T&T this summer and captured his first National crown when he overcame an knee injury that caused him to drop his second event, and was able to win the DMT Level 5 (Novice) 16 and under – GOLD medal!

In addition to Nationals this past season, Carter was the 2017 Provincial Champion in DMT L5 16U and Bronze medalist in Trampoline L5 16U.  Previously, Carter was also Western Canadian Double Mini Champion in 2012 and 2013, along with being named Most Dedicated Athlete 2011-12 and 2015-16 and Male T&T Athlete of the Year 2012-13 and 2013-14 at Exelta Gymnastics. While he trains in T&T he also continues his love of sports by playing volleyball, track and hockey.

Carter’s athletic gifts and desire to excel along with his training experiences with ASDC-Central will only see him continue to grow and develop in his gymnastics career!
