Rob has resided in Red Deer since 1983. He has been actively involved in the sports community in various capacities. Has coached; high school football, wrestling, volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field, hockey, soccer, t-ball, lacrosse, softball holding various CAC certifications in many of these sports. He has played; football, hockey, soccer, basketball, wrestled, bobsled brakeman and lacrosse at various levels of competition. Rob has been on the executives of; Red Deer Wrestling Club, Red Deer Junior High Athletic Association, Red Deer Minor Lacrosse Association and Red Deer Minor Softball Association. He has been President of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) Health and Physical Education Council (HPEC), been the co-chair of the 2010 HPEC Provincial Conference and served as Director of Accommodations for the 2006 Alberta Summer Games.

Rob is married to Margaretrose and together they have raised five active children in the Red Deer community. Along with his family he is an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. He is currently teaching at Central Middle School serving as Physical Education and Health Department Head. Rob is also serving on the Board of Directors for the Sport Council of Red Deer (SCoRD).
